Mobile Relay Associates

- On July 15th 2009, RadioReference.com LLC received a letter on behalf of Mobile Relay Associates ("MRA"), from David J. Kaufman (Rini Coran, PC Law Firm, Washington DC), requesting that RadioReference immediately remove technical details of their SMR from our database. Pending further review of the demand, RadioReference has restricted access to the public for all Mobile Relay Associates ("MRA") trunked system information stored in the RadioReference Database (RRDB).
- A second letter from MRA was subsequently received.
- RadioReference.com LLC engaged the K&L Gates law firm to draft this official response to MRA:
- On 2023/02/28 RadioReference.com LLC received another letter from David J. Kaufman (Rini Coran, PC Law Firm, Washington DC) requesting that RadioReference immediately remove newly posted user contributed technical details of their SMR from our database alleging Section 605 of the Communications Act of 1934. Letter: letter from MRA dated 2023/02/28 - Review of the demand, RadioReference has restricted access to the public for all Mobile Relay Associates ("MRA") trunked system information stored in the RadioReference Database (RRDB) specifically requested by David J. Kaufman on 2023/03/06
- On 2023/03/22 RadioReference.com LLC received the following email from David J. Kaufman (Rini Coran, PC Law Firm, Washington DC)
On Mar 22, 2023, at 10:31 AM, David Kaufman <dkaufman@telecommediatechlaw.com> wrote: Mr. Blanton: MRA has discovered another offending page, specifically: https://wiki.radioreference.com/index.php/Restricted_Info This page contains a link to the following offending page: [REMOVED] Notwithstanding your disclaimer of not controlling the second webpage, you are sending people directly to this page that continues to violate the law. While MRA is going to deal directly with the person that operates the offending page, radioreference.com must eliminate this link. And just to be clear, MRA does not object to the publication of its site locations and frequencies. It is the information pertaining to MRA’s customers – which could only have been obtained by violating the statute – to which MRA objects. David J. Kaufman
Per MRA's request through David, we removed the link to the external Web site in question.
