The BCD536HP is Uniden's Flagship mobile/desktop scanner which incorporates two firsts. Like it's direct sibling the BCD436HP, they are the first standard scanner to include the ease of use of the HomePatrol style w the entire US database; simply enter your zip code and away you go. As well as, the BCD536HP adds to that: WiFi connectivity, allowing you to listen to and control your scanner using your Apple smartphone or tablet from anywhere in over a local intranet, your home or vehicle, or around the world w/ optional 3rd Party software, It utilize the same Sentinel (Uniden software), and can be used interchangeably for BCDx36HP Series on one PC. Features
- Flexible Easy Channel Selection using either Zip Code or GPS and/or Service Types - just pick the kinds of channels you want to hear and tell it where you are and let it do the rest.
- Range Control - Lets you set how far out from your current location the scanner will search for Channels in Favorites Lists and/or the RadioReference.com Data Base a.k.a. HPDB. *Location precision for Departments, Sites, and/or Conventional Channels that allows you to define a location and range using Circles or Rectangles.
- Serial (DB-9) GPS input for Location Based Scanning, Uniden GC-GPSK or Compatible GPS Receivers, "GPS" promptly displayed when connected
- Complete Front-Panel Program ability - create custom Favorites Lists either using systems from the HPDB as a starting point or program your Favorites from scratch.
- Included Sentinel (Uniden software) makes HPDB and firmware updates simple. Also allows you to create, edit, and manage your Favorites Lists, from a PC.

- Backlight-on-Squelch - allows the back light to remain on during an entire transmission.
