Radio Shack Pro-160 scanning receiver

The Pro-160 was manufactured by Uniden Japan for Radio Shack. The Pro-160 is the base/mobile version of the Pro-162 and uses the same software and cables.

Note: This radio cannot be computer controlled.

Reference

  • To reset the scanner (erases all programming):
    • 1. Turn off the scanner.
    • 2. While holding down 2, 9 and PSE, turn on the scanner. "Initializing… Please wait" appears for about 5 seconds as the scanner clears its memory.
  • To restore the preprogrammed frequencies (overwrites user programming):
    • 1. Turn off the scanner.
    • 2. While holding down 3 and ENT/PGM, turn on the scanner. After several seconds, the scanner restores the frequencies.
  • To display the firmware version:
    • 1. Turn off the scanner.
    • 2. While holding down 2, 4, and 9, turn on the scanner. The firmware version and checksum will be displayed, followed by the scanner automatically cycling power and returning to normal operation.
