The SERAM is the Système Évolue de Radiocommunication de l'Agglomération de Montréal (Montreal Metropolitan Advanced Communications System).

It is used by Montreal Police Department (SPVM), Montreal Fire Department (SIM), public works and public security.

The system is split into 4 sites: sécurité publique (001), travaux publics (002), Aéroport Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau (014) and Métro de Montréal (015).

Montreal Police and Montreal Fire operate exclusively on site 1 (except ADS & ADS Sup which are on site 1).

Site 2 communications are primarily public works and public security.

Some talkgroups of the SPVM are relayed on site 15.

OPS 8 channel is commonly used as an interoperability channel (between SIM, SSIAL and tunnel firefighters) for LHL tunnel interventions. Some neighboring fire departments have access to the system for interoperability.

The system is coming to an EOL (End Of Life) and will be replaced in 5 years. The newer system is named SÉRAM 2.0.
