Five Cities Fire Authority is responsible for the cities of Arroyo Grande and Grover Beach along with the Oceano Community Services District. Five Cities Fire is dispatched by the SLO County Fire Department/CAL FIRE dispatch center on "County Net" (154.385) and responds on "Five Cities Command". Any calls requiring mutual aid from County will be assigned "XSL/County Command 4" (151.055).
Five Cities Fire also responds on automatic and mutual aid calls near its jurisdiction.
The borders between Pismo Beach Station 64 and Five Cities Fire jurisdictions are roughly Oak Park and James Way, El Camino Real and Oak Park, ECR to the Pismo Beach/Grover Beach City limits.
While the engines feature a shorthand number (e.g. Truck 5), all radio communications utilize a four digit call sign including the agency identifier (66xx) and the apparatus type and identifier.

The Morro Bay Fire Department is a full service department serving the town of Morro Bay. MBFD has mutual and automatic aid agreements to respond outside their jurisdiction when needed. Morro Bay Fire Department works with the Morro Bay Harbor Patrol and the US Coast Guard to provide necessary emergency services off-shore. Morro Bay FD is dispatched via radio by the County Fire Dispatch Center on County Net and responds on Morro Bay Command for in-jurisdiction calls.

San Luis Obispo City Fire Department services the City of San Luis Obispo and the Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Campus. SLO City fire provides full ALS care to patients by using Firefighter-Paramedics. SLO City Fire also has a non-transport ambulance (Squad 1). SLO City Fire also responds mutual and auto aid to assist the County Fire Department and other local fire agencies when needed. Unlike all of the other local departments, SLO City Fire does not use their county (four digit) callsigns when responding out of their jurisdiction--preferring to use a callsign similar to San Luis City Engine 2. San Luis City Fire has their own dispatch center and dispatch channel City Net along with two simplex tactical channels.

Templeton Fire and Emergency Services provides fire and BLS medical aid to the community of Templeton. TEM also provides mutual aid to County Fire and other nearby agencies. Templeton Fire is a PCF (volunteer) department but has an average response time of 5.5 minutes.
