Trunked System General

  • Site 3 (County UHF): County has announced this site will cease to operate at the end of 2026, all its users must migrate to Site 4. Presently this site carries most emergency services traffic, including Franklin fire talkgroups; law enforcement over this site is sporadic.
  • Site 4 (County 700): Presently this site carries the most traffic, apparently all law enforcement and emergency services excluding Franklin talkgroups; if you only monitor one countywide site, use this one.
  • Site 8 (Franklin): This site is mostly limited to Franklin talkgroups but occasionally has another talkgroup when a radio affiliates to it; monitoring this site for other than Franklin talkgroups is unreliable.

Central Somerset EMS Collaborative (95 EMS) is an arrangement by Green Knoll RS (34 EMS), Finderne FARS (35 EMS), Manville RS (42 EMS), Martinsville RS (43 EMS), and Somerville RS (54 EMS), with rotating duty crews to cover the overall area. 95 EMS is active 1800-0600 Monday to Friday and continuously on weekends though its Manville coverage starts later on weekdays and omits weekend daytimes. During a 2026 snow emergency, 95-EMS was suspended and squads had crews on to cover their own territories.

Emergency Services Tones

Listed agencies may also have primary responsibilities, and direct dispatch from, outside of Somerset County. Service areas are primary Somerset County and Somerset County-dispatched municipalities and do not represent myriad mutual aid scenarios. Paging voice messages may be multicast on other frequencies but pager tones are usually over only the listed frequency(ies) for that agency.
