Customs and Border Protection is part of the Department of Homeland Security. Its primary law enforcement role focuses on ports of entry and border protection. CBP includes the former U.S. Border Patrol, much of the former U.S. Customs Service, the former Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (U.S. Department of Agriculture), and the some of the former U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service ("INS").
