Richmond Capital Region - Radio System History
The Richmond Capital Region is the geographic area in Central Virginia which surrounds the Commonwealth's capital, the City of Richmond. Beginning in the year 2000, Chesterfield County, the City of Colonial Heights, the City of Richmond and Henrico County partnered in an initiative for a regional radio system. The result was a 3 zone Motorola SmartZone trunking system.
