For the Charlottesville City, Albemarle County, and University of Virginia (UVA) communities, emergent 911-calls, and non-emergent service calls, are received by, and dispatched centrally from, the local Emergency Communications Center (CECC)[1], to the appropriate police, fire, or rescue units, using the Charlottesville/Albemarle Trunked Radio System.
