Codes/Units/Station Lists/FTOs/Maps
Loudoun uses the Metro Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG or COG) unit numbering system, with some modifications.
Unit designators are of the form ttjnn or tjnnn where:
- tt - is the one or two-letter unit type (A = Ambulance, E = Engine, etc.)
- j - is a digit representing the jurisdiction
- nn - is a two or three-digit unit number, usually the station number. Ambulances use three-digit numbers (this is one variation from the COG system).
The jurisdiction numbers are:
- 0 = Washington DC
- 1 = Arlington, VA
- 2 = Alexandria, VA
- 3 = MWAA (airports)
- 4 = Fairfax County, VA
- 5 = Prince William County, VA
- 6 = Loudoun County
- 7 = Montgomery County, MD
- 8 = Prince George's County, MD
- 9 = Frederick County, MD
- 10 = reserved
- 11 = Fauquier County, VA
- 12 = Culpeper County, VA
