Rebanding through most of the network is now complete. A new site, Oakland (Q), near Red Oak was added. The current RACOM System Map shows all of their sites are operating under the new LCN orders, this has yet to be confirmed in the NE/SD regions.

Rebanding is now done thru I-35. All points East of I-35, the Des Moines, West Des Moines, Fort Dodge and Osceola sites are now completed. Points West of I-35 should be rebanded in the next month.

RACOM rebanding is currently done for Eastern Iowa. Almost all sites East of I-35 have been completed with the exception of Ames, Mason City and Pleasant Hill. Reprogramming of sites has started with Marshalltown.

Madison County, NE
E-911 was voted out by Comissionners Meeting. They took [NPD] took RAYCOMM for E-911 system to help pin-point Cell-Calls are coming from so they can be directed to the right agency in Madison County. But the Radio Frequencies & Talk Groups will remain the same.

Madison Police Chief (Nebraska) said that Madison PD/SO/FD, Battle Creek, Newman Grove, Tilden, and Meadow Grove PD/FD will switch to a trunk system sometime this fall. He said it would be a RACOM system like Norfolk has.

Cable One will be switching to Norfolk,NE site in fall of 2005. Subsequent information received is that this plan has been given up.

Madison Police and Madison County Sheriff (Nebraska) were planning to move to the RACOM this summer or fall. According to Chief Waterbury of the Madison Police, they will not switch to a trunked system until 2006, due to budget cuts. He said when they go to a TRS it will be like the Norfolk system.

RACOM operates an EXTENSIVE EDACS system in Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Nebraska, and South Dakota. Currently, RACOM has plans to expand this system's coverage with multiple site additions currently pending before the FCC.

- 339 LifeCom dispatch (Omaha) uses to communicates with Des Moines LifeFlight.
- 1905 LifeCom to communicate with our Nebraska LifeNet helicopters.
- 1906 LifeCom to communicate with our Iowa City AirCare helicopters.
- 1910 LifeCom to communicate with aircraft inbound to the Iowa City helipad.
- The RACOM radio is cross-banded to an aircraft radio on a UNICOM channel.
