LE Channel Usage:

Volusia Sheriff's Office Communications ("central") dispatches all Law Enforcement and Fire/EMS agencies in the county. Some talkgroups on the system are not simulcast to all sites.

LE1: VSO District 1 - Coastal Division (Peak beach season only, rarely used.)

  • Beach Patrol is split up between LE5 and LE7 now.


LE2: VSO District 2, Deland PD, Lake Helen PD
LE3: VSO District 3N, Holly Hill PD, Ormond Beach PD
LE4: VSO District 4 & District 6, Orange City PD
LE5: South Daytona PD, Port Orange PD, Daytona Beach Shores PD, Ponce Inlet PD
LE6: Not actively used. (Sometimes used for inter-agency communication)
LE7: VSO District 3S , Edgewater PD, New Smyrna Beach PD

  • District 3S is formerly known as District 5.

LE Tac 1-7: All 7 Tac channels are used by all LE departments. Typically, the Tac channel number corresponds to the LE Dispatch channel they are on. Example: LE2 Agencies are assigned Tac 2, LE3 Agencies are assigned Tac 3, etc. However, some municipal LE agencies use their own departments' tac channels.

Daytona Beach PD:
DBPD1 (West): Daytona Beach PD Ch 1 (West of FEC Railroad)
DBPD2 (East): Daytona Beach PD Ch 2 (East of FEC Railroad)

Trunked Systems:
All communications are currently on the EDACS System, with some communication and testing on the new P25 System.

  • As of Feb 2026, All Fire and EMS Communication has moved over to the new P25 system with full encryption
