The term wavelength refers to the length of a radio wave; or more precisely the length from peak to peak. Wavelengths correlate directly with frequency (cycles per second).
- If you want to determine the wavelength in meters from frequency in MHz, simply divide 300 by the frequency.
- If you want to determine the frequency in MHz from the wavelength in meters, simply divide 300 by the wavelength.
Common Ham Band Wavelengths
- 6 meters = 50-54MHz
- 2 meters = 144-148MHz
- 70 centimeters = 420-450MHz
