Wichita Falls Public Works NEXEDGE
- The city of Wichita Falls has moved all non-public safety departments, except Transit, from their four VHF simplex channels and one UHF repeater to six NEXEDGE NXDN conventional repeater frequencies at multiple sites. Here is the City Council Resolution to purchase the equipment. Four of the frequency pairs were used by the police and fire departments before they moved to the 800 MHz EDACS trunked system.
- Here is the channel lineup as heard so far:
- Simplex operation on the repeater outputs has been heard but it is not known if the old PD simplex channels (460.225, 460.325 and 460.475) are used.
- As of 12/21/2012 the VHF channels (153.590, 154.025, 155.760, 158.760) appear to be silent. The licenses have been modified for narrow FM and digital emissions so it is not known if these frequencies will be used for anything in the future.
