Franklin and Fairfield Counties
Local public safety operations for most jurisdictions covering Interstate 70 in Franklin and Fairfield County take place on the Franklin County Public Safety trunked system. Fire departments of interest on the system are the Columbus Fire Department (including Franklin Township Fire Department), Prairie Township Fire Department, and MECC departments (6 fire departments sharing one dispatch center). Law enforcement agencies of note are the Franklin County Sheriff and Columbus Police. Reynoldsburg Police operates on a conventional system, as does the Pickerington Police Department.
Franklin County is in OSP District 6 and is patrolled by Posts 49, 21, 45, 23, and 65.
Licking County
Conventional frequencies for the Licking County Sheriff (also dispatches Kirkersville and Union Township police departments), West Licking Joint Fire District, and Licking County Fire (33.860 and a repeater of it on 158.760, located near the highway) should be programmed.
Licking County is in OSP District 6 and is patrolled by Post 45, located near Granville.
Muskingum County
Muskingum County Fire Departments are dispatched on and operate primarily on 33.980 (there are several VHF repeaters throughout the county). Zanesville police and fire operate on VHF conventional frequencies. The Muskingum County Sheriff's Office operates primarily on Ohio MARCS. Other agencies have talkgroups on MARCS, as well.
Licking County is in OSP District 7 and is patrolled by Post 60, located near Zanesville.
