Evergy is the merged companies of Westar and Great Plains Energy. Great Plains Energy is the former Kansas City Power and Light and Missouri Public Service (also known as Aquila Energy or Utilicorp/United)
This system is replacing both the existing Westar Motorola System and the Great Plains Energy Motorola System. This system is in parallel to the Evergy VHF system, it is unknown at this time if it will completely replace that system. There is a separate DMR Tier 3 radio system in Burlington, Kansas for the Wolf Creek Power Plant operations.
As of December 2021, there are 101 sites with licenses pending with the FCC, as a result of the Anterix (pdvWireless) 900Mhz rebanding/frequency swap.
LRRP is enabled, providing location data/direction/speed for radios that are enabled.
