  • MO service area serves of St. Louis City and County (and surrounding area) (Founded in 1969)
  • As of 2017, uses CAD/Logis cellular device dispatching.  MED-10 462.975 rarely used, as back-up in MO. MED-9 462.95 used for Urgent Tone-outs and back-up in Belleville IL

Christian Hospital EMS Facebook

  • Christian Hospital Emergency Medical Services (CHEMS) provides emergency services to North St. Louis County fire districts and communities serving more than 210 square miles, as well as outlying communities like St. Charles and Alton.
  • CHEMS responds to approximately 40,000 calls annually, making us the third-busiest 911 provider in the state of Missouri.
  • Fleet - 22 ambulances, 3 command/triage vehicles, truck/trailer for disaster response. Employs 80 full-time first responders and 25 on-call responders.
  • 8 911 ambulances that run 24/7, 1 peak 12 hour 911 truck, and 2 BLS 12 hour 911 trucks.

  • 11/23 - Has been bough by WLRC Medical, from Maryland, which owns 4 ambulance services. LINK
  • Former Gateway Ambulance (bought in Feb 2019 - 200 employees, 47 ambulances)
  • 1530 Fairview Ave.; between Trenton Ave. and Midwest Industrial Dr.
  • 2024 UPDATE - Unsure what communications method is currently being used. DMR reportedly not in use.

  • WU EMS is Missouri’s first and only physician-based, licensed Emergency Medical Response Agency (EMRA). They provide medical direction to many types of prehospital entities including fire-based systems, a hospital-based system, third service agency, private agency, USAR, tactical, EMT and paramedic programs. They offer education, QA/QI, field response shifts, protocol development/changes based on the latest science and expert opinions. They have a 24-hour call line for online medical control and deployment for field response.
