Introduction
This feature is implemented in the BCT15, BCT15X, BCD996T, BCD396XT, BCD996XT, BCD325P2, BCD996P2, BCD436HP, BCD536HP branded Trunking Uniden scanners.
Some Motorola, EDACS wide coverage systems, Project 25 both Phase I FDMA and Project 25 Phase II TDMA use multiple System Sites that are linked together to provide extended area coverage. Each Site operates on its own set of frequencies, but all Sites share common Talkgroup IDs (TGIDs/channels) with all the other Sites in the System.
With the initial implementation of Dynamic Memory Architecture (DMA), each site needed to be entered as its own System (BCD296D and BCD396t), so all TGID had to be duplicated for each site. This resulted in more complexity as well as higher scanner memory usage in programming multiple Systems with multiple different System Quick Keys.
With this newer method, you define a System, one or more Sites for the System with its respective frequencies, and then the TGIDs for the System. All TGIDs are shared among all Sites.
Normally, a Site will only carry traffic for a Talk Group that has at least one subscriber unit (Mobile/Handheld transmitting radio) affiliated with it.

- The System tag is never displayed, but makes the system easy to find for programming updates. BCT15, BCT15X, BCD996T, BCD396XT, BCD996XT
- The System tag is displayed for the BCD325P2, BCD996P2, BCD436HP, and BCD536HP models
Primarily attributes of a Site include:
- Site Name
- Site Startup Key: Allows you to turn on the scanner with certain sites preemptively enabled (used to scan different areas; like Home vs Work)(not necessary for all users)
- Site Frequencies: All or Control Channel and Alternate Control Channels
- Site Hold Time: Sets how long the scanner will monitor the site.
- Site Location: Allows you to set the scanner to scan by location and range (if you use the scanner with a GPS unit attached.)(not necessary for all users)
- BCT15, BCT15X, BCD996T, BCD396XT, BCD996XT, BCD325P2, BCD996P2
- Site Quick Key: Equivalent to the System Quick Key (SQK); turns the site on/off for scanning. BCT15, BCT15X, BCD996T, BCDx96XT, P2's (best practice)
- BCDX36HP series
- Site Quick Key: Equivalent to the Department Quick Key(DQK); turns the site on/off for scanning. BCD436HP & BCD536HP (best practice)
- All Sites Can be on 1 DQK or utilize many DQKs (Don't use the exact same DQK for Departments and Sites (unless Anytown's TGIDs only ever utilize the Anytown Site)
- DEPARTMENT is the new name for GROUP (100 DQK's) vs (10 GQK's)
