BCD996P2
From The RadioReference Wiki
The Uniden BCD996P2 is a APCO-25 Phase II capable base/mobile TrunkTracker V scanner with Dynamic Memory Architecture. It is an upgrade to the BCD996XT, and direct sibling to the BCD325P2 released shortly after. This scanner became available to the market in March, 2015. The BCD996P2 has many features included in previous generations of "996"'s*, currently it's waiting on a firmware update to include Site specific P25 decode threshold settings that never showed itself in the XT model. It's overall redeeming qualities: inclusion of Phase 2 receiving capabilities and better ability to handle power disruptions, than the new SD card based top-of-the-line BCDx36HP series, allowing owners/operators seamless restoration of scanning after a power disruption, important for operators not familiar with scanner operations i.e. Tow Truck Drivers and other listeners/Responders.
- As noted in the Differences in 996XT to 996P2? Thread, the BCD996P2 differs from the BCD996t and BCD996XT in the following ways:
- Different face plate
- Digital Phase 2 capable APCO Project 25
- USB port
- Printed Manual
