Dangerous Roads, Dangerous Crossings and Points of Interest
Location Based Scanning is a feature associated with the following Uniden scanners;
These scanners can have a number of locations programmed into them that when the the scanner is properly connected to a GPS and it has recognized it's coordinates, can alert the user that they are either near or at the preprogrammed site.
The scanners allow sites or locations, called Dangerous Roads (DRD), Dangerous Crossings (DXG) and Points of Interest (POI) to be programmed in. Dangerous Road and Dangerous Crossing locations are programmed to alert the precise coordinates while the Points of Interest can be deginated to alert at positions from a distances of 0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.0 miles from the listed coordinate. Dangerous Road and Dangerous Crossing locations can also include information pertaining to the current heading and speed of travel when approaching these locations in order to elimnate potential alerts in the event that these approaches are less dangerous from different directions or speeds.
This area is setup to define Dangerous Roads (DRD), Dangerous Crossings (DXG) and Points of Interest (POI) that you believe may be of interest to the other users in those areas.
The listings should be programmed by State, Metropolitan Areas, Counties, Citys and Towns that they are near. Please list by the 3 letter designaters along with the LAT/LON data and other data as it pertains to that specific type of location. A description no greater than 16 characters for programming should be placed within brackets (eg: [Speeding Patrol]. Any additional information can be added if needed to explain further. The listing date should accompany the description. Please edit or remove the listings in the future if they are no longer pertainent.
