- 3/24 - Missouri Central School Bus said it's ending its contract with the Saint Louis Public Schools (19,600 students) on June 30, resulting in the closure of two St. Louis-area locations and lay off of hundreds of workers. MCSB will be closing its locations at 3645 Gratiot St. and 8000 Hall St. in St. Louis, the letter stated.
The company said the permanent closing and layoffs at the two St. Louis locations will begin on or about May 24 and continue through the completion of its service ending on or about July 15, affecting about 332 full-time and part-time employees.
SLPS officials said in a press release late Monday that its contract with MCSB was supposed to run through the 2024-2025 school year, but the bus company is exercising a clause to terminate the contract. AP Article
